Pipe Replacement
Consolidated’s annual capital improvement projects include replacing water pipelines throughout the distribution system using open trench construction or pipe bursting technology.
The Engineering Team utilizes pipe age information and leak data to identify future replacement locations. Our hydraulic model software assists in strategic planning and identifying bottlenecks in our system. Additionally, the Team works with local City and County staff to replace certain pipelines before summer paving programs, reducing pavement restoration costs.
In 2022, we replaced over 7 miles of water mains!
That’s almost 15 times the length of Maple Grove reservoir (from north to south).
Almost 2.5 times the length of the longest runway at DIA (16,000’).
It is longer in length than the depth of the Mariana Trench (36,201’).
Almost 55 times the height of the cash register building downtown (~700’).
